It’s been a long day
I have to say its time to go to bed.
So hit the sack
And don’t come back
You need to reefresh that head!

Spring Cleaning isn’t just about cleaning out closets or attics or basements, it’s also about clearing your mind. Your Nutritionista: The Truth About Food Costs →
nutritionista:
I wanted to share this article from Mark’s Daily Apple because I think it’s crucial for anyone who’s ever believed they couldn’t eat healthy because it’s “too expensive.” In reality, Americans a smaller percentage of their income on groceries than ANY OTHER COUNTRY. Why isn’t buying quality…

Finding your Center
Our bodies are vessels. They can hold only a limited amount of energy, either good or bad. Find your center. Cleanse your body of bad energy and replenish it with good. Feel restored. Feel animated. Let your daily work energize you rather than deplete your energy. Create joy.
Resolutions: Summoning Chi
Today, I will center myself and act from a place of balance.
Today, I will open...

BSW Inventory
Have you ever taken an inventory of all that you have put off? I mean really review everything and write it ALL down? I did just that, and it was exhausting. I still keep thinking of items I need to add to the list. So, this is what keeps me up at night? And I’ll tell you what, since writing that list, I slept better than I have in months.
While I write out my monthly goals;...

Falling Forward
Walking everyday through the leaves reminds me of being a kid. That sweet scent of the leaves and the crunch beneath my feet take me back to a time when life didn’t produce so many thoughts, so many things to do, and remembering (and forgetting) things left undone.
Today, at last, is a beautiful Fall day, but it seems it’s taken so long to get here. Spoiled by the spring and summer...

The Travel Mom
The Travel Mom
I recently had the great opportunity to meet Emily Kaufman, the Travel Mom. Emily and I met at The ArtBar in Cambridge over a “community lunch”.
Fortunately, Emily brought her friend Lauren, from SeaWorld, to tell us about all the new wonderful things happening at SeaWorld Orlando. (Annie and I are planning on heading to Florida for my husband’s Spring ...

BSW Thought for the Day: My Happiness Project
BSW Thought for the Day: My Happiness Project
Sometimes, I am a bit naive to think that a title of a book could create such an emotion! And, I don’t mean for me. When My Happiness Project book arrived, and my husband saw it on the floor, he started to question me about whether or not I was happy. I had always told him since leaving my corporate job that I was the happiest I had...

BSW Thought for the Day: Busy Mom?
BSW Thought for the Day: Busy Mom?
I’ve been home now for almost 16 months, playing the role of mother, wife, launderer, cook, cleaning lady, gardener, dog walker, accountant, blogger, blogger, web site developer, marketer, business partner, fitness partner, listener, and friend. What one role do I feel I have mastered? None. Or so I thought.
What makes me a master of any of...

BSW Thought for the Day: Reflections of Me
BSW Thought for the Day: Reflections of Me
Spending time in the car is always time for great reflection. What I imagine as I’m driving, while not texting, is not where I’m headed so much as where I have been. Yesterday I drove to Connecticut to attend a family funeral. As I drove over the Connecticut River, passing Hartford, I am able to reflect on my childhood filled with...

Ing-ing!
BSW Thought for the Day: Inging
Sunday, the second day of the long weekend. Noting that I have little to do other than laundry, bathroom cleaning, mopping, sweeping, raking, bed making, dog walking…that’s a lot of -inging!
I first saw this clock at a shop in Newport and fell in love with it, clearly it is a statement of how I feel today! Except here in Boston it should...

BSW Thought for the Day: What The Past Has Taught...
What inspires me most? Hmm, maybe the people around me? Or perhaps the goals I’ve set for myself? No, I have to be honest, it’s music. I’m the classic Shower, In-the-car, Rock Star. Only thing is, I’m the only one in the audience.
My singing career started way back when I was about 5 or six, and I sang Delta Dawn for my mom. The problem was, I had to sing...

BSW Thought for the Day: What's Gotten Into Me?
Nesting is an interesting aspect of my monthly life. When it shows up, it’s generally a very good thing, however, it does tend to tire me out! It hit me around 7pm Thursday night. Minding my own business, I started to re-do all of Annie’s drawers in her closet, I then moved to Charlie’s room, and took out the vacuum. Really? Vacuuming on a Thursday night? Whatever...

I Own It
It’s Friday, and boy, what a week! I feel as though I’ve had a bit of an ephiphany. Since I’ve been home (looking for work),running the site and trying to help small businesses with their marketing, most days I don’t want to be questioned what I’m doing. And this week was no exception.
Enough already! I’m finally following my passion for writing, and...

Communicating the Old Fashioned Way
Communication between people has gotten way out of hand! Texting, emailing, posting, facebooking, tweeting, tumbling, stumbling….you get the picture. What happened to good old fashioned conversation?
Let me tell you about my recent struggle with commmunication. Maybe it’s partly me, maybe its due to the lack of conversation. Here goes:
It all started when all I wanted...

A Great Recommendation on Organics from...
I care about my health. Taking care of my body is one of my strongest values. One of the eight limbs of yoga (ancient guidelines) is ahimsa, which simply means non-harming. I am very conscious of the food choices that I make and whether or not they are benefiting or doing damage to my body. I know that choosing a dark, leafy green salad to eat will give me more energy and vitality than eating...

Hi guys, happy Friday! I don’t normally post twice in one day, but I have some things on my mind and figured I’d write it out and see if it helps. Don’t worry, the usual Friday post, It’s OK! is coming later so be sure to check back! Like I said yesterday, I’m having some mental issues this week with the whole weight gain thing. Networking Women
The sheer power of women, when you gather them together, is so strong, and so incredibly uplifting, I had to tell you about my evening last night.
Last night I attended the Boston Women’s Network Kick-off event for the year. (they took a summer hiatus). Held at the beautiful Liberty Hotel downtown, I couldn’t help but be in awe of the building. I had only been to Alibi in the...

Anxiety as a Benefit
What inspires us most, is the unknown. We get anxious about the things we cannot control, yet some of us are able to use that anxiety to our benefit, as though it gives us strength.
Often, I wonder what it would feel like, I mean, really feel the anxiety and let it overcome me. Actually, I have felt it, and yet, I had no idea. See, when anxiety truly sets in, I mean truly, you...

New England Vs New Jersey
I secretly wish I had a Jersey Accent. That way I could get away with wearing big hoops, tight skirts, big heels, and swear without question. Sometimes I just roll into my Jersey accent for my husband and kids. My husband loves it, the kids…not so much. For me, it’s a way to take on another persona.
Growing up in New England has it’s benefits, don’t get me...
